We built the place around them: a pet station with free bags right outside the door, premium treats at the desk, a heated patio at Toulouse where your dog eats with you, pet-safe ice melt on every walkway all winter, and the best dog walk on the South Shore a short drive away. Up to two dogs in every room, $50 per dog, per night.

❅Dinner together: Toulouse, our on-site restaurant, seats dogs on its heated patio in season, so dinner doesn’t mean leaving them in the room.

❅Pet-safe ice melt, all winter: Most ice melt burns paws and is toxic if licked. We only buy the pet-safe kind, on every path and step from the first snow to the last.

❅Every room takes dogs: We keep pet rooms to the same standard as the rest. Choose on size and view — see our rooms.

❅For you, after the walk: Fire pits, a seasonal pool and hot tub, and Lakeside Beach a short walk away (people only on that one — dog beaches below).

The House Rules for Dogs

❅Two dogs per room: More than two? Call us before you book and we’ll see what we can do.

❅$50 per dog, per night: Non-refundable, charged at check-in.

❅On a leash: On the property and in Heavenly Village.

❅Home alone is fine: If your dog is settled alone, go enjoy dinner. Hang the door tag so housekeeping knows.

❅Pick up: On the grounds and in town. Bags are at the pet station.

Where to Take Your Dog From the Hotel

Lam Watah Trail through Rabe Meadow to Nevada Beach 10 min by car to the trailhead at Kahle Community Park, then a 20-minute meadow trail to the sand (walking the whole way from the hotel is about 50 minutes each way)	Our favorite. Park at Kahle (restroom at the trailhead), walk the meadow past the beaver ponds, cross the little bridge and come out on the sand. Dogs go on the south end of Nevada Beach — the dog-friendly part.
Nevada Beach by car 10 min via Elks Point Road	Same beach without the walk. The dog-friendly stretch is the south end; the main swim beach is not.
Heavenly Village 5-minute walk	Leashed dogs welcome on the outdoor plazas and most patios.

Nevada Beach has a dog-friendly part and a people-only part — the south end is the dog section, and it’s a wonderful one. The main swim beach next to it is not.

Is there a pet fee?

Yes — $50 per dog, per night, non-refundable, charged at check-in. Two dogs per room.

Which rooms allow dogs?

All of them. Pick the room you want.

Can I leave my dog in the room?

Yes, as long as they’re settled and quiet — our pet policy lets us end a stay if a dog becomes disruptive, so if yours gets anxious alone, bring them along; Toulouse’s patio makes that easy. Hang the door tag so housekeeping skips the room.

Can my dog eat with me?

Yes — Toulouse’s heated patio is dog-friendly in season.

Where’s the closest place to walk my dog?

The pet station is right outside the door, and Heavenly Village is a 5-minute walk. For a real outing, drive 10 minutes to Kahle Community Park and take the Lam Watah Trail to the dog-friendly end of Nevada Beach.

Is there a dog beach I can walk to?*

Yes, with an asterisk: it’s about 50 minutes on foot each way — 1.4 miles to the Lam Watah trailhead at Kahle Community Park, then the 20-minute meadow trail to the dog-friendly south end of Nevada Beach. Most guests drive the 10 minutes to Kahle and walk the trail from there. Lakeside Beach, the one closest to the hotel, is people-only.

Is it safe for my dog in winter?

Yes. We use pet-safe ice melt on every walkway, and Van Sickle Bi-State Park and most Forest Service trails stay open to leashed dogs all winter. Heavenly’s gondola does not carry dogs.
